Another project that I found on Do-It-Yourself-Weddings was fabric and toilet paper roll napkin rings! These were super easy to do, and will add a nice pop of color to the purple napkins I plan on using on ivory table linens, like how I mocked up here.To start, I cut the green fabric (the same fabric that I used for two of the card box layers) into 10 sections that were 7 inches by 33 inches:
We then cut each section into 10 2.75 inches by 6.4 inches (with the laser cutter, of course! I
When I got engaged, I got a lot of conflicting advice about how much I should help plan for the wedding (I’m a guy). Some people said I should help with all the major decisions. Other people that I should only do the traditionally male stuff (like book the honeymoon and get my groomsmen’s measurements) – and that by getting involved, I would just make everything more complicated. How much should I be involved?

After deciding to upload all our wedding pics to flickr, instead of actually doing more of the thank you cards (shame on me!), I finally have all of our pictures. I still have a few hundred from my dad and other guests, but these will have to do for now.First of all, looking through all these pictures while Mr. Kiwi watched the USC/UCLA game, I realized how incredibly blessed I am to have been able to marry him. I know, all ladies say how lucky they are, but somehow I think it was a bit of a miracle that I happened to find him. Like I
Have any of you been growing out your hair for the big wedding day? I got engaged 18 months ago, and I had been growing my hair ever since. It was out of control! I think my head was starting to hurt from the weight. Seriously! I couldn
It was a mad crafting weekend at the Fro Yo house. I gathered dowels, ribbons, scissors and glue guns and I was off and running. Mr. Fro Yo even got in on the fun and helped me cut some ribbon, though he refused to attach them to the dowels.I
Getting married in Seattle caused me to think thoughts of rain, rain, and more rain. Weather.com informed me that October in Seattle has an average of 13 rainy days per year, which meant our chances of rain might have been close to 50%. I saw this picture by Laurence Kim and I knew I wanted to make sure and have umbrellas for guests to hold so we wouldn
I think I love my wedding jewelry more than my wedding dress. I’m obsessed with things that *sparkle* and I like to add a little *bling bling* to whatever I own. Since I started wedding planning, I collected a great deal of jewelry from wholesale shops in NYC popular couture bridal accessories shops online, and bridal consignment boutiques in the Philadelphia area.My first two brooches were purchased from a mall kiosk vendor at King of Prussia. The owner is Korean and she sells a a lot of rhinestone hair jewelry/combs and brooches for reasonable prices. I bought two of her brooches hoping I could use them for my wedding dress, applying one to my sash and the other to the side of my dress. We took a look at the brooches, and sadly, they didn’t work so well with my dress. I was really frustrated because I thought the brooches were really stunning but I didn’t know what to do with them..When it came to finding my bridal clutch, I really didn’t like what I was seeing at most department stores and bridal boutiques. The clutches were kind of simple and ordinary; I wanted something that added a lot of *bling bling*! These are a few clutches I liked from Perfect Details. They look so beautiful but the price ranges were too high for what I was looking for:
Looking carefully at the designs of some of these expensive clutches, I realized I could DIY my own clutch easily by buying a simple clutch and adding a few brooches to the side. I found a pretty ivory satin clutch from an outlet store at Franklin Mills for about $20 and added my two brooches to the side of the clutch. Here’s how it looks together:
Not bad! The brooches were very easy to pin on and the whole project took only a few seconds. No mess to clean up afterwards too! There’s plenty of affordable brooches you can find at Macy’s, and Nordstrom. I love the ones from White Aisle, and check out any consignment or antique stores in your area. One of my favorite brooches is vintage in style, it’s the middle one in the top photo. I love all the inclusions and golden tones that are found within the crystals. It may not be as sparkly as the other newer brooches but it definitely has some character compared to the rest.
