After all the fun I had and presents I received at my first bridal shower, it was hard to believe that I had another one to attend on June fifth! FMIL Turtle and Grammy Turtle hosted this one at FMIL & FFIL Turtle
Flower Girl Dresses
I talked to my caterer and the museum event coordinator yesterday about the ceremony/reception details. I presented the circular menu cards and everyone seemed to like the idea, it’s simple to arrange and it looks very elegant in the white bone china they will be using for the reception. When it came to talking about our escort cards, I gave the caterer several ideas, one that I posted previously and a more three demensional idea. They seemed to love the three demensional paper flowers and I thought to myself, would this be too difficult to create for all the escort cards? I came up with ideas to make it easier for me to create a bulk amount of these paper flowers. Here’s a photo of a few of the flower escort cards I made so far:
My favorite detail is actually the mint green leaf which has each guest and corresponding table name. I found the template on aylee’s website, she has a lot of really impressive DIY templates. I think I have used almost all of her templates! We will arrange these escort cards around a flower cake arrangement like the one MrsMek had on her place card table.
The flowers will be arranged in a circular fashion like DRZWife’s green apple place card arrangement.
I gotta say that creating all these flowers was time-consuming but I figured ways to make them easier and faster to create. Instead of using a petal template, I stacked 5 small pieces of paper together and did a freehand design. I used a lot of tranparent tape and wiring to so that the petals stay in place. I’m halfway done and they look pretty good together. Each flower has a slightly different size and design, but I think they represent real flowers because they are all unique from each other. We only have about 75 guests so I don’t have to create nearly as many escort cards as DRZWife’s wedding! If anyone is interested in creating this idea for their escort cards, feel free to ask any questions!

Mr. Martini and I chose not to get married in a church, simply because we preferred not to change between two locations, not because of any religious reasons. There were slight objections from our Christian families who preferred us to get married in a church, but we were able to negotiate having a religious wedding at our venue location. Our venue, The Venetian, is great in every single way, except for the ceremony room, which I feel is just too small. This is a picture of the ceremony room (from my previous entry):
From the back
From the frontThe room is super long and narrow and there are 200 seats currently placed in there. We hope to have about 200 guests but we know it’s inevitable that there will be more. If we have more, we will have to add seats to the back of the room. Also, guests will have to walk down the aisle in order to get to their seat because there isn

Wedding planning is draining, financially and emotionally. Not at first, of course. You start off on a high. You’re excited, you’re full of energy for this most thrilling project, you are going to have the MOST BEAUTIFUL WEDDING EVER!!!And then at some point, the thrill wears off, and the excitement is abraded away by the sheer, unrelenting demands and decisions and negotiations and politicking of it all. You start to get discouraged, you JUST WANT IT TO BE OVER!!! so you and your sweetie can get back to normal. It is right then that you need to STOP. Back away from the spreadsheets. Don’t move a bridal muscle. No more planning, no more shopping, and don’t, whatever you do, make one. more. decision. Don’t do it! Because in this frame of mind, you’re going to make a fast and ill-considered decision, just to get it OVER.When you feel the dam about to burst, take a day off. Do not make any phone calls, do not look at fabric swatches, do not peruse the cataogues. Try not to even think about the wedding. Do something else. Give yourself a break, a real break. In a day, maybe two, you can go back to it with a clear head. But for now? Just breeeeathe.Source

These are just the covers–they are going to be little folders with the invite inside and the rsvp postcard slipped inside as well. I’ll post pics when I decide on the final product. So excited!! Which one should I choose???
